Samsung Releases Galaxy S4 I9500, I9505, I337M Kernel Source


Good news for developers. Samsung has just released the Galaxy S4 kernel source. The SGH-I337M, GT-I9505 and GT-I9500 kernel source is now available for download on Samsung’s open source repository. This will help developers in building custom ROMs for Galaxy S4 smartphone. For now, Samsung has released the source for unlocked devices and the Virgin Mobile Canada SGS4 I337M device. More devices will follow soon.

For GT-I9505 (Qualcomm Snapdragon devices): I9505VJUAMDB

For SGH-I337M (Virgin Mobile Canada devices): SGH-I337

From the download pages linked above, you will be able to download JB_Opensource.zip file which includes the kernel source for that particular device.

Galaxy S 4 is the next flagship Android device from Samsung, after Galaxy S3. The device will start shipping to consumer in few days. However, Samsung has released the source well before the device starts shipping. This does not include the source for US-specific devices which will be released later. For now, the custom ROM developers for Galaxy S4 and enthusiasts.
