CyanogenMod Releases CM10.1 Nightly for Galaxy S4 US Models, Install Now


You can now download and flash CM10.1 for Verizon Galaxy S4. CyanogenMod team had earlier announced the nightly builds of CM10.1 for AT&T & Sprint Galaxy S4 as well as for T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and US Cellular models to be available soon. Now the nightly builds are up and available and can be flashed on your device. For those who are new to this, CM10.1 is one of the popular Android 4.2.2 custom ROMs and supports a large number of devices from the original Galaxy S to the latest S4. The ROM is update quite often and the bugs are ironed out as well as new features are added.

Flash CM 10.1 on Galaxy S4 (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint & US Cellular)

First you need to secure your data and take a backup of your device.

Step 1: Root your device & Install Custom Recovery

To begin with, you must have a rooted Galaxy S4 device. You can use Chainfire’s CF-Auto-Root for Galaxy S4 I9505 or Djrbliss’s Motochopper tool to easily root and install custom recovery on Galaxy S4 smartphone.

Note: Rooting the phone may void your warranty.

Step 2: Download the ROM & GApps for your device

Please note that this is a nightly build of the ROM and may have some bugs. We recommend that you take a nandroid backup of your device so that you can revert back if anything doesn’t work out as expected. In addition to the ROM file, you will need to download GApps and install it after installing the ROM. It’s because the stock ROMs do not contain the GApps package and you have to install it separately.

Step 3: Flash CyanogenMod 10.1 on your device
