How to Install Facebook Home on Unsupported Devices


Facebook Home for Android is available in Play Store for selected devices. Thanks to Paul O’brien of MoDaCo, you can now install Facebook Home on unsupported Android devices running Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich. Among the left out devices are some popular names like Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note as well as several Nexus devices. Although these devices, among many others, are not supported officially you can still install the app on any unsupported device.

How to Install Facebook Home APK on Any Android Devices

Whether you own a device that is not supported officially or own a device that is supported but the app has not become available in your area, you can still install it right now:

Install Facebook Home on in Unsupported Country / Region on Supported Device

Step 1: Download Facebook Home 1.0 APK (com.facebook.home.apk) from this MoDaCo page.

Step 2: Make sure following apps are already installed on your device:

Step 3: On your device, enable the setting to allow installation from unknown sources. It should be in “Security” settings.

Step 4: Now install the downloaded Facebook Home APK on your device.

Step 5: Activate Facebook Home from Facebook app settings.

Want to install Facebook Home on Galaxy S2 or HTC One or any other device? Paul has patched the Facebook app APK to disable the device check option. So you can install these patched apps on any Android device. Just follow these steps:

Step 1: Uninstall following apps from your device:

  • Facebook app
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Facebook Home

Step 2: You will need to download Facebook Home patched APK files for following apps:

  • Facebook app (katana)
  • Facebook Messenger (orca)
  • Facebook Home (home)

Download patched versions of these apps from MoDaCo page.

Step 3: On your device, enable the setting to allow installation from unknown sources. It should be in “Security” settings.

Step 4: Now install the downloaded APKs on your device.

Step 5: Launch the Facebook app, sign in and then activate Facebook Home from Facebook app settings.
