How to Install Android 4.1.2 Jellybean JZO54K on Nexus 7


Google release the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean JZO54K update for Nexus 7 devices. This is a minor update which is currently rolling out. If you haven’t received the update yet, you will get it soon. If you do not want to wait and want to update immediately, here is a step by step guide to help you do that:

How to Install Jelly Bean 4.1.2 JZO54K on Nexus 7

Before you Begin:

  • Root Nexus 7 and install ClockworkMod Recovery
  • Backup all your important data

Step 1: Download Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 official update: JZO54K-from-JRO03D.03a4eaf9.zip

Step 2: Put the downloaded zip file in sdcard.

Step 3: Reboot Nexus 7 in CWM (ClockworkMod) Recovery mode.

Step 4: In recovery mode:

  • Navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard
  • Now select the zip file that you put onto the sdcard in step 2.

It will take some time to install the update, be patient.

Step 5: Once the update is complete, select the reboot now option from main recovery screen.

Your device will reboot. That’s all. To confirm that the update has been installed, navigate to Settings > About and check the build number of currently running OS on the device, it should be JZO54K. Enjoy!
