Want to remove HTC Sense from HTC One? You could be in luck. HTC is reportedly considering an option for letting its users uninstall Sense 5 from HTC One and use stock Android UI instead. The news comes shortly after Google’s Sundar Pichai unveiled the HTC One with Nexus Experience at AllThingsD’s D11 conference. The device has same hardware specs as of the original HTC One released by HTC. However, Google Edition will not include the HTC Sense 5 UI which the original model did have. Here is how the HTC One with stock Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 looks like:
Looks good, no? For those who already own HTC One with Sense 5 UI, HTC may be offering an option to remove Sense and install stock Android UI on HTC One. According to The Verge:
HTC also provided another interesting tidbit: it’s currently “examining the best way to support early adopters of the One” that may prefer the stock Android experience over Sense, perhaps by way of an AOSP ROM. The company isn’t providing specifics on that front just yet. Still, if you’re a One owner feeling burned by today’s announcement, there may be hope.
Whether HTC will release an AOSP ROM for HTC One or will offer a software update, it’s currently not known. However, it looks like the users who do not like HTC Sense UI will soon be able to get rid of it. Or if you are considering to purchase the device, it’s recommended to wait till June 26th when Google will be releasing HTC One Nexus device which will be sold through Google Play Store for $600.
