Step 1: Download and install latest version of SMS Backup & Restore APK on your Android phone (Google Play Store Link).
Step 2: Launch the app once it’s been installed.
Step 3: In the app, tap on Backup button. Choose a name for the backup XML file that you are going to create and tap Ok to start the process.
Step 4: Once backup process is completed, you will see a confirmation in the app. Tap the close button to go back to app.
Step 5: You will find the XML file on your SD card, you can copy and save it at a safe location. This file can then be used to restore messages from XML to Android later, when needed.
