The official Android 4.1.1 jellybean update XXDLIB is now available for Samsung Galaxy SIII I9300 devices. The update XXDLIB does not bring any new features to the previous releases of jellybean, it addresses the battery and wifi issues that some users have been experiencing. The update is released for unlocked Galaxy S3 devices so anyone can install this update on their device.
You can download the update and install it on your device manually.
Manually Update SGS3 to Jelly Bean 4.1.1 XXDLIB
Before you Begin:
Backup your contacts, SMS and other important data
Step 1: Download the update I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_XEO.zip and Odin3-v1.85.zip and extract the downloaded files.
Step 2: Switch your device off and start it in download mode by pressing Volume Down button and Power button at the same time.
Step 3: Connect your device to the PC via USB cable.
Step 4: Launch Odin on your PC. On Windows, run it as administrator to avoid any problems.
Step 5: In Odin, click on PDA and select the I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_I9300XXDLIB_HOME.tar.md5 file that you extracted in step 1.
Please note that the ID:COM boxes in Odin should be turned yellow from white.
Step 6: Click on Start button in Odin and the installation will start.
Wait for the process to complete, it can take up to 10 minutes so be patient.
Step 7: When the update process completes, disconnect your device from the PC.
That’s it! To confirm that you updated successfully, navigate to Settings > About Phone. You can see the installed OS version and build number along with other details there.
