Download & Manually Install Android 4.1.1 UVDLJC on T-Mobile Galaxy S3 T999

T-Mobile USA is rolling out OTA UVDLJC update for T999 Galaxy S3 smartphones. The update T999UVDLJC is now also available for download as a zip package that can be flashed manually using a tool like Odin. This update brings some security enhancements and improved user experience with Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 on Galaxy S3 T999 devices. This is an optional update that is available via OTA as well as Kies. As per T-Mobile:

Beginning January 31, the Samsung Galaxy S III will have an optional software update to Android version 4.1.1/ Baseband version T999UVDLJC via Over The Air (OTA) and Samsung Kies. This update provides security enhancements and improved user experience.

How to Install UVDLJC on T999 (T-Mobile Galaxy S3)

You can get this update in following ways:

  1. Install via OTA update
  2. Update from Samsung Kies
  3. Manually download and install the update using Odin

If you are unable to get the update from OTA or Samsung Kies, only then you should consider to manually flash it on your device. Here’s what you need to do in order to install this update:

Install UVDLJC OTA using Odin

First, take some precautionary steps:

  • Please be aware that after installing this update you will lose the root access and will have to root UVDLJC again.
  • You should have device drivers installed on your PC.
  • Backup all your important data before proceeding.

Step 1: Download T999UVDLJC Update

Step 2: Extract the downloaded zip file, you will get a .tar.md5 file.

Step 3: Download and unzip

Step 4: Launch Odin3 application.

Step 5: Boot T999 in download mode and then connect it to computer.

Step 6: In Odin3 application, click on “Start” button to kick off the process.

Wait till it’s complete. Your device will boot into newly installed ROM when the process is complete. You will then have the official T-Mobile Galaxy S3 UVDLJC (Android 4.1.1) update. Disconnect the device from PC and start using it.
