Google has released the official Android 4.2 Jelly Bean JOP40C for Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus devices earlier today. The update brings latest version of Jelly Bean to, now older, Nexus devices shortly before the next line of Nexus phone (Nexus 4) and tablets (Nexus 10) becomes available. The update will eventually roll out to all users owing N7 and Galaxy Nexus. If you have not yet received the OTA update, you can now download and manually install Jelly Bean JOP40C on Nexus 7.
We posted a tutorial on manually updating Galaxy Nexus to 4.2 Jelly Bean, same instructions can be applied for installing JB 4.2 on unrooted or rooted Nexus 7 devices. First up, you need to download the package and rename the downloaded file to “update.zip”.
