The official Android 4.2.2 for Galaxy S3 I9300 has been leaked. The leaked firmware I9300XXUFME3 is now available for download and brings Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 JDQ39 to I9300 Galaxy S3 smartphones. It’s an early leak of a pre-release, test version of the firmware while the development is still in progress. However, you can download and install it on your device if you want to. The firmware package, made available courtesy an insider of SamMobile, can be installed using Odin. Here are the details:

Download & Install Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 on Galaxy S3 I9300
Before you Begin:
- Install USB drivers for your device. If you have Samsung Kies installed, it will install all the required drivers.
- Backup all your important data including contacts, SMS/MMS and other data.
- Enable USB Debugging on your phone if you have not enabled it already.
- Exit Samsung Kies if it’s running.
Here’s the step by step guide:
Step 1: Download the firmware zip package: I9300XXUFME3_I9300OJKFME1_ILO.zip.
Step 2: Unzip the downloaded file to get I9300XXUFME3_I9300OJKFME1_HOME.tar.md5 file.
Step 3: Download Odin3_v3.04.zip and launch the Odin3_v3.04.exe. Run it as administrator.
Step 4: Boot your Galaxy S3 in download mode. To do this:
- Switch your phone off
- Press and hold Home + Volume down + Power buttons
- Confirm to enter download mode
Step 5: Once in download mode, connect your device to the computer via USB cable.
As per step 3, Odin should already be running on your PC. Soon as you connect your phone to the computer, Odin will detect the connected device.
Step 6: In Odin, click on PDA button. Then browse and select the “I9300XXUFME3_I9300OJKFME1_HOME.tar.md5” file.
Step 7: After selecting the file, click on “start” button to kick off the process.
Odin will now flash the selected firmware I9300XXUFME3 to your Galaxy S3 device. Please be patient as it may take some time.
Step 8: After the install process is complete, your phone will then reboot.
You will now have XXUFME3 for I9300 firmware on your device. This firmware, although it is a test build and an early leak, brings some cool features from Android 4.2.2 JDQ39. So you can enjoy some Galaxy S4 features on Galaxy S3 now.
