The official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S2 update I8160XXMB2 has been spotted and could be available soon. According to leaked screenshots the XXMB2 I8160 update will bring Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on Galaxy Ace 2 smartphones. Galaxy Ace 2 is mid-range mobile phone from Samsung that currently runs on Gingerbread.

Samsung has been rolling out Android 4.1.2 update to newer Galaxy devices this fall. Now when the powerful devices like Galaxy S3, S2 and Note 2 have received the major updates, it looks like now is the time for midrange devices to get the update.

The firmware details are as under:

PDA: I8160XXMB2

Version: Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean JZO54K for Galaxy Ace 2

Date: Feb 5, 2013

The screenshot clearly shows off the Android 4.1.2 for GT-I8160 smartphone. There’s no word on release date though. We can just hope that it gets released soon. The official stock Jelly Bean for Ace 2 could finally arrive in March / April this year. However, we hope that a test firmware gets leaked well ahead of release. Once the firmware update becomes available, you receive the OTA update. Alternatively, you can update using Samsung Kies or can download the update manually and install it using Odin. We’ll keep you updated, stay tuned for more!
