CF-Root-SGS2: Root XWLS8 on Galaxy S2 I9100 [JB 4.1.2]

Updated to I9100XWLS8? You will be able to root Galaxy S2 4.1.2 XWLS8 firmware with CF-Root and flashing it using The CF-Root for XWLS8 is not available yet though as the firmware was released just a few hours ago. Once the update gets released, you can follow our step by step guide to successfully root I9100 on official JB 4.1.2.

While you wait CF-Root for I9100XWLS8, make sure to perform the preliminary steps:

  1. Update Galaxy S2 to Stock Jelly Bean XWLS8 firmware.
  2. Install USB drivers for your device on the PC.
  3. Enable USB Debugging on SGS2 of yours
  4. Backup all your important data

UPDATE: For those interested, a pre-rooted XWLS8 stock ROM is now available.

How to Root XWLS8 on Galaxy S2 I9100

Step 1: Download the root package: <<to be available soon>>

Step 2: Download and extract the downloaded zip file.

Step 3: Run Odin3 v3.04.exe as administrator to start Odin application.

Step 4: Boot your device in download mode.

Step 5: Connect Galaxy S2 to the computer. Odin will detect your device.

Step 6: In Odin, click on “PDA:” button. Then browse and select the downloaded CF-Root zip file.

Step 7: Click on “Start” button in Odin application to kick off the process.

Wait till it’s complete. Your device will then reboot. You should now have root access with SuperSU on Galaxy S2 4.1.2 XWLS8 firmware. Enjoy!
