AirCast Android App: Share Videos from HDD, Dropbox & Google Drive to Chromecast
Say hello to AirCast, the app that lets you share videos from Dropbox, Google Drive or from your video gallery to Chromecast devices. AirCast APK test build has been made available for download and it can be installed on any Android device. This test build will self-destruct in 2 days and will no longer remain usable. According to Koush:
I spent a couple hours yesterday reverse engineering the Chromecast protocols. Great success! I am now able to get around all the developer whitelist restrictions. I’m actually not using the Chromecast or MediaRouter SDKs at all anymore.
AirCast is an Android app that lets you share videos from your Gallery, Dropbox, or Drive, straight to your Chromecast enabled TV.
The app is really useful for those with Chromecast enabled devices as they can play any videos on Chromecast easily. After you have downloaded and installed the APK, all you have to do is to share a video of your choice with AirCast. Sharing is very simple, just follow the steps given below:
- Open a video that you want to play with Chromecast.
- Tap on “Share” button.
- Select “AllCast” from the list of available sharing options.
- Now select the Chromecast enabled device
- The video will start playing and on-screen controls will appear.
Before that, you have to install the app. Here is the link to get the APK and install it on your Android device:
