Updated your Galaxy S2 to I9100JHLS4? You can use Siyah-s2-v6.0b4.tar to root JHLS4 on I9100 Galaxy S2 4.1.2 Android Jell Bean firmware. Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Israel update became available earlier today. Since JHLS4 is the stock firmware, you will lose the root after you update your device and will need to re-root it. Siyah Kernel will let you do it easily. All you have to do is to download and flash Siyah S2 to I9100 device running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 firmware. Here are the steps:
Siyah Kernel Root Galaxy S2 4.1.2 JHLS4 (I9100)
Step 1: Download the root kernel: Siyah-s2-v6.0b4.tar
Step 2: Download Odin3_v3.04.zip and extract the downloaded zip file.
Step 3: Launch Odin3_v3.04.exe to start Odin app.
Step 4: Boot Galaxy S2 in download mode. To do this:
- Switch your device off
- Press & hold Volume Down + Power buttons till the screen appears, then leave the buttons
- Now hold the Power button again till you see Android logo with an exclamation mark
- Finally press the Power button to confirm entering the download mode
Your Galaxy S2 is now in download mode.
Step 5: Connect your device to the computer via USB cable.
Step 6: In Odin, click on “PDA” button, then browse and select Siyah-s2-v6.0b4.tar file.
Step 7: After the PDA file is selected, click on “Start” button to kick off the process.
Before you click the Start button:
Be careful and make sure that you do not mess up with checkboxes:
- Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes should be selected
- All other checkboxes should be unchecked
Odin will now flash Siyah Kernel to Galaxy S2 I9100 and will root I9100JHLS4 firmware. Your device will reboot when the process is complete. You can then disconnect your phone from PC and start using it.
