1. CyanogenMod 4.2.2: CM 10.1
Arguably, the most popular Android aftermarket ROM. CM ROM supports almost all mainstream devices and is ray of hope for some devices which have not received a stock update for years. CM team continues to support older devices like Captivate and Epic 4G while still building for newer devices and adding support for latest Android flavor. Latest version of CyanogenMod, CM 10.1, is now based on Android 4.2.2. It supported Android 4.2.1 but soon as Google released 4.2.2, CyanogenMod team were quick to announce it and delivered Android 4.2.2 based CM10.1 ROM soon after.

Developed by a group of developers who previously delivered Liquid ROM, CarbonROM is relatively young and refreshingly new aftermarket ROM. Since it’s new, it currently supports a limited set of devices. Some of the popular devices like Galaxy S2 and Nexus devices are supported though. The list will certainly grow with time though. 4. ParanoidAndroid 3.0
Paranoid Android is a custom ROM based on CyanogenMod. The team behind the ROM started rolling out nightly builds of ParanoidAndroid 3.0 based on Android 4.2.2 earlier this month. Available initially for Nexus devices only, PA 3.0 now supports handful of devices. Some of the devices are still not covered by the version 3.0 but we can expect it to arrive soon for more devices.
